For painter Carole Watanabe, there is no differentiating between her life and her art. Her logo and motto to live by is LiveArt. She spends time painting and exhibiting all over the world and her styles of painting reflect her "Passion Into Paint" attitude towards rural France and California, New Mexico, Venice and soon to come Greece and Turkey. Watanabe sees painting as a personal story of her life.

Landscapes of France & California - An Impressionist's eye paired with the golden light of Southern France and the rolling vineyards of Northern California create the rich topography of Carole's two favorite worlds.
Florals & Not So Still Lives - These images burst with the exuberance and spirit of an artist who grasps and paints the gutsy relationships we share with everyday objects.
Esprits du Monde - Carole's new painting series began with the introduction to the Cobra artists.  The work is characterized by an extremely free style of painting and a wide color palette complete with figuration and words.

Her interest in this new style of painting was enhanced by a visit to a private collector's house filled with popular, tribal, folk, outsider and contemporary figurative work.

It is through her extremely individualistic style, working from her subconscious language that she arrives at creating these images that everyone carries with them.

Many international artists; Kandinsky, Miro, Klee and Picasso found a voice from an interest in children's art, tribal and popular art or folk art.

Caroles work is a creation of myth.  Her language is the common property of mankind:  fabulous animals, mask-like faces and cosmic landscapes.
Abstracts - Watanabe's abstracts are incredibly emotionally present with their engaging surface charge, subtle language of modulated color, and soothing lines that remind one of the wabi sabi aesthetics of an ancient mended tea bowl.
Maritime Views - Carole's maritime work reflects the richly hued deep water tones of Collioure, France, the Mediterranean fishing village made famous by Matisse. Painting the Fauvist boats and seaports and directing her gallery, L'Art Vivant, is how Carole spends her summers.
